I must admit that from time to time I decide to do something primarily because it's trendy. That is what prompted the filming of the video below, which will no doubt look familiar to you from countless other videos featuring other people who got caught up in promoting a great cause. Usually though, I aim to do things for the most selfish of reasons - because it feels good. Like getting cold water poured over my head after mowing the lawn on a very hot day. Or picking up my next great book to read. I am not nominating anyone in particular to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, though I do encourage you to donate money that can be spared to this worthy cause, or else another that may be nearer and dearer to you. And I nominate everybody to go to an independent bookstore or the library or surf on over to an online shop to do some book browsing. Select a book that intrigues you. Perhaps even my very own Patches of Grey. There's nothing quite like the feeling of completing a wonderful novel. It's refreshing to the mind, body and soul. As always, happy reading!
